I chose this song as my first single because it represents a blend of the styles I work in. It's not typical of my usual sound by any means. It took over a year to complete, starting in 2024—which is unusual for me, as I typically write songs in minutes or hours, not months.
This track originally began as a synthesizer piece; I usually start writing on guitar. Some of the lyrics were written on the fly as placeholders, and the rest flowed from there. Normally, I have most of the lyrics already in my head—but not this time.
The guitar work here is almost funky, which is another departure for me. I don’t usually go in that direction either!
